And anyone who's a subscriber to consumerlab.com is also aware that many chocolates are also contaminated with cadmium, and a few with lead. Price is no assurance of low Cd or Pb. Organic might be, since the Cd is often from pesticide residues (but can be naturally in the soil).

There is no FDA standard for Cd in chocolate confections. NOW Products claims to meet that non-existent standard. Make of that what you will.

And if it's flavanols you're after, high %cacao is no assurance of that.

Until we get credible package claims for Cd, Pb and flavanol content, the situation is a mess.
