Hi! Former (Lapsed) Atkins now Starting Wheat Belly :-D
« on: August 16, 2016, 04:36:20 PM »
Hi everyone!
This looks like a great forum. As you see in the subject line, I'm a former (very LAPSED) Atkins Low-Carb'er.  Now it's time to try to take off about 30 lbs.  I read the Wheat Belly Book & Cookbook, and started 4 days ago.  Love it so far!  Goodbye GRAINS!  I'm an avid cook & baker, so I'm sure going to enjoy going through all of your recipes here, and posting some of my own!   :)

Welcome to the forum!

Like you, many of us are former Atkin's followers.  No grains, no sugar is a much easier way of eating in my opinion.  There are many talented cooks and bakers on this forum and your input would be welcomed.  Maintaining a "healthy" weight is not difficult when your carbohydrate intake is limited.
Looking forward to your posts.

re: I read the Wheat Belly Book & Cookbook...

For further study, the most comprehensive book on the program is Wheat Belly Total Health (2014), which includes some key topics overlooked or not emphasized in the original 2011 book, in particular the entire microbiome topic, and making the daily and interval net carb targets clear.
