Taco Salad


Some times I brown my meat with onions, salt & pepper, and garlic powder and freeze it...ready to use.


If meat is not browned, start here:


2 TBSP olive oil


1 lb ground beef or other ground meat


1 small onion, diced


Salt and pepper


1 TBSP garlic powder


Heat oil in large skillet. Add onion to heated skillet and cook until tender. Add meat and spices and cook until browned.

If my meat is already browned and prepared, start here:


1 TBSP chili powder


Chipotle chile pepper seasoning (to taste) - less than 1/2 tsp


1 can fire roasted tomatoes (chopped)


1 can pinto beans (optional)


Lettuce, tomato, cheese, Japs, avocado


Heat prepared meat. Add chili powder, chipotle seasoning, fire roasted tomatoes and pinto beans. Simmer to cook down juice and tenderize meat.


Serve over shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes. Put grated cheese and avocado  (or guacamole) on top and chopped Japs on the side.
