Funny that you mention this.   I was just moments ago being bummed that I was going to miss a webinar that he is doing tomorrow on Pediatric Brain Response To Gluten Sensitivity for this nutritional group that I'm in.   I have my biochemistry class at the same time.

But now I have another opportunity.  :)

I decided to post a banner on the right side, since I think this is going to be a really good event.

On a side note, I saw that Alessio Fasamo is also on the panel.   I'm really excited to hear what he has to say.   In class the other day, our teacher said we should really look up his studies, as he is considered one of the top experts in the country on leaky gut.  And what's the main cause of leaky gut?  Gluten.  Gluten causes zonulin levels to increase in the body, and that makes the tight junctions in the intestines open up.

My colleague (who is gluten sensitive) and I were talking about our plans for the weekend and I mentioned that I was going to be listening to a web summit all day Monday. She asked what kind? When I told her it was a gluten-free summit, well her face perked up and she starting asking me all kinds questions. I sent her the link and hopefully she'll get a chance to listen as well.
She's that colleague whose family keep detracting her from succeeding as WF.

I am excited about tomorrow as well!

Listened to all four speakers and learned so much. Dr Perlmutter was great as usual.

Since this summit isn't live (all interviews were pre-recorded), all the interviews are actually available now, you don't need to wait until a certain day to listen to the expert you want.

If you go to today's link, in the address bar you will see http://theglutensummit.com/day-1/ and change the number 1 to whichever day you want to listen to.

I am really enjoying the summit.

I had time for Marsh (sp?) and Perlmutter. Really enjoyed both of them.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to get a couple more in tomorrow.

I went to Vibe's link and listened to one of the talks.  I didn't even have to register, so if anyone is reluctant to sign up, go to that link and maybe you don't need to: I didn't!

Glad to hear you didn't need to register to hear it.
From what I gather, registering allows you to get emails announcing the speakers and provides the link to that days speakers.

I heven't received anything unsolicitated.

I was pleased to get anything at all.  I had planned to register, just didn't get to it.  Truthfully, what I watched may not have been the most recent but it was very interesting.  The e-mail alerts sound like a nice convenience.

I sure wish this person was my own personal physician..................even tho she is not a doctor.
She is so good at explaining ketosis, why we need to eat fat, why statins are crap, etc.

Why do we call our system a health care system? It's really a disease-management system, dependent on expensive drugs and invasive surgeries

The Gluten Summit has lived up to my expectations.....my mind is swimming with new information, new avenues to explore and new books to read. After day two, I realized it was going to be difficult (we have houseguests this week) to spend the required time necessary to watch so I ordered the package. I'll check and see if I can forward the transcripts and if so, will post a thread.

Nora Gedgaudas was very good.

Yes. Interesting how she compared our bodies burning fat to a wood burning stove.

Also enjoyed how she took us back to our ancestors explaining how they might very well have lived and how grain was not in their daily lives.

Bread is such a new component in our SAD, yet too many people just cannot imagine not eating it!

One entire aisle at my local Walmart is entirely made up of bread and rolls.

Can the "Gluten Free Summit" banner be removed now?

It messes with the display width on my iPhone.

 :)

Thanks

I agree bill, very informative, especially her cholesterol info. Can't remember which of you had high HDL at your last tests, but she indicated that it might be an indicator of inflammation. It's about an hour into her interview...near the end.
