Herbal tonic and tea recipes al'a Ruth Shulman, NY Times

While reading a NY Times article posted by Randal, I scrolled down the page and came across some recipes by Martha Rose Shulman.
These are actually infusions, not teas.  They are tasty and only limited by your imagination.  Delicious hot or cold.

MEYER LEMON TEA

4 slices meyer lemon
2 cloves
1/8 tsp. turmeric
sweetener to taste
pinch cayenne

COCONUT GINGER LIME TEA

1/4 cup finely grated unsweetened coconut
2-3 tsp. minced ginger
1 TBS lime juice
1/2 tsp. tumeric
sweetener to taste

DRIED FRUIT TEA

1/4 cup dried apricots (about 10 pieces)
1/4 cup sour cherries
1/3 cup dried cranberries
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 TBS orange zest
1 slice orange
4 cups water
sweetener to taste

Directions:  Pour bowling water (about 2 1/2 cups) over ingredients.  Let steep for 30 minutes.  Strain and reheat or drink at room temperature.  Store in refrigerator.  6 carbs

The DRIED FRUIT TEA directions are to place all ingredients in a pot with the 4 cups of water.  Bring to boil and simmer for 30 minutes.  Let steep for another 30 minutes and strain, pressing fruit to release all liquid.  9 carbs
