Linda,

Terrific article.  I'm sure glad to see this.  Loved the end of the article where number of births for pastured pigs are competitive to the commercial farms.  Thanks for posting this.

you're welcome.....................

I just began purchasing from a producer of pork, beef and poultry, located in Keystone, Iowa, and they deliver once a month to various locations in Iowa, one of those locations being just 10-15 miles from my house. I purchased a delicious pork roast this month and turned it into Crock Pot Pork Chile Verde. So good!

So now, I have two sources of grass fed beef and cage free chicken and free range pork and I can really compare prices and get the best value for my meat as well as eat the kind of food my body deserves!
Life is good.

Linda, I would love to have your recipe for Crock Pot Pork Chile Verde.

Here is a direct link to Linda's site with the recipe. I follow it exactly except for the xanthan gum, don't really need it.
I eat it with sour cream or salsa or sometimes just shredded cheese. Just enough heat for me, I am a wuss when it comes to hot food! LOL

Scroll down about halfway on the page.

I find the product at my local WalMart, in the mexican food section.

Linda, I have some. My brand is Herdez...came from Walmart. I'll check ingredients again. And sometimes I buy that 505 green chile sauce at Whole Foods for the recipe Rita posted quite awhile ago for a green chile casserole. You should try that recipe. We love it. I've made it several times. Thanks for the recipe and info.

It does look good, but, without the carb counts, I usually don't try the recipe. I hate the hassle of working through the entire recipe, determining the size of each serving and the carb count per serving. I guess that is why I really enjoy finding my recipes at sites such as Linda's because she has done all the hard stuff for me.  LOL
