Post by: Rita on April 23, 2013, 09:21:21 AM
Had to laugh at this comedy routine. It's so original:
( I'm testing the functionality of youtube options on this forum right now .... so bear with ).

What is WRONG with this picture.....I am sitting meditatively on the dock, getting my daily dose of Vit. D, reading about becoming more eco-friendly in the world, as well as in my body, assimilating the energy of the water.....while my husband is up on the deck shooting his BB gun at the geese! Kind of ruins the moment!

Too funny Jan!
Think of this from his perspective: He is keeping the geese away from you and going "splat" on your head! True love and devotion in my opinion! :D
Of course, the next part is if he actually hits a goose which then falls to the ground. Will your hero butcher and de-feather it for your supper? :D :D :D

If you see a new topic posted "Goose Bone Broth", you'll know he got lucky! :o actually he was shooting at them on the ground....they have, unfortunately taken up residence on our lawn for the summer.

I decided there is an untalked about disease around I should warn you all about. My family went to dinner last night and I had a huge filet mignon. Awakened feeling great for a change. So, I decided I had been suffering the dreaded 'Filet Deficiency Syndrome'! Prescription: lots of great steak :D

HA! Lynda...love it. Had a really great steak myself for dinner last night. Oddly enough...I'm feeling pretty good myself this morning. ;)
It's my "go-to" dinner when I've had a crazy day...dh bbqs and all I have to do is make a nice dark green salad with WB ranch dressing. Good, satisfying dinner in no time at all.

Chili is good, too. I make an almond flour corn bread to go with it (I know corn is bad) that adds that mysterious touch of marachino cherry!

I'd be glad to send it, Deanna. Give me a day to go drag it out. Actually, that doesn't sound bad for tonight for dinner! Thanks for the idea. :D

Made the chili last night. It was delicious. Made the WBB cheese biscuits to go with it. Would love to do cornbread again, but I know myself too well. If I had it just once, I'd want it all the time and I don't do corn. We all really enjoy the biscuits so I'll stick with those. Made a good dark green salad and homemade dressing to go with it. My two year old great granddaughter preferred the salad over the rest of it. She was eating the spinach right out of the bowl before dinner LOL. I love that she loves her veggies so much already. A good beginning for her. :) She did manage to get some chili down and she loves the biscuits as well, but a good fresh salad just makes her day!!

Sadly I have seen childhood displays like that at my local WalMart and it makes me SO GLAD not to be raising small kids anymore. My oldest child, many years ago, started a temper tantrum and I warned her three times, then calmly parked my cart, took her to the car, and drove home without purchasing a thing. She never did that again.

What is the translation to the name Verbissene in this case? Google Translate gave a few different meaning.
Hey Vibe, I could hear you laughing all the way in SC - :)
The first thing that comes to mind, when thinking of a good translation for "verbissene" is "like a dog with a bone" … Biss is bite. And verbissen means biting into something and not letting go. The word is used in a negative way for a female who is unrelenting and inflexible, stubborn even. I checked what google said, and seems doggedly is the word they suggest, it's not really in my vocabulary, but I'm guessing it means the same thing? Germans have words that other languages don't have a word for, which is why they sometimes borrow it. Schadenfreude comes to mind ...
Thanks for the mental challenge, haha!!
