Introduce Yourself to the Wheat Free Forum / Hello there.
« on: January 15, 2016, 07:19:19 AM »
Hi, how are you all doing?

My name is Chris and I come to the wheat free lifestyle after a long battle with my weight and the associated health problems. I've got paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, acid reflux, dry and sore skin patches in all manner of unspeakable places and sinus problems galore.

I am a 45 year old man living in North Yorkshire in the UK. I started at over 20 stone / 280lbs / 125kg

I have tried low carb things before, and had limited success, but always seem to fall off the wagon a few weeks or months in. This time I've gone the whole hog, starting with the Wheat Belly 10 day detox with all the supplements that Dr Davis recommends. I am starting to feel better. My skin is improving, my sinuses are clearing up, my BP has finally dropped and the weight has just melted away.

I really want to stick with this. I haven't weakened at all so far and have resisted all wheat and grain products as well as rice and potatoes. I just hope my current determination lasts.

Looking forward to reading the posts and chipping in.

Well last night it was down to 143/91. Looks like I'm on the right track.

Thanks all. I'm already taking magnesium tablets. I think my detox is peaking. I was able to bring it down a bit with some mindfulness earlier. I'm not going to stress about it...vicious circle!

Hi everyone,

I' just started the Wheat Belly detox plan on Monday and have lost 4lbs already. I'm still feeling pretty bad at times, with tiredness and aches and pains. I guess I have a lot of detox to do given how much I've abused my body over the last 20 years...

Anyway, tonight I took a BP reading tonight and was a bit alarmed to see it was actually higher than last weekend before I started! It was 170/108 tonight and had been 176/86 last week.

So the question is, am I worrying for naught? Is this a normal part of detox? I have been a bit stressed at times today as well...maybe that's contributing?

Any reassurance would be welcome!
