Hello everyone! So happy that I have found this forum as I have just recently bought the WB book and will soon start my journey to a healthier me. My story starts 2 or 3 years ago when my tummy was getting noticeably larger and larger. Especially near the end of the day. More so than not, my stomach was so large by the end of the day that I looked 10 months pregnant with triplets! So I made a trip to my doctor explaining what was happening and all he did was have me lay down on the table so he could push on my tummy here and there, have me sit back up and proceed to tell me nothing was wrong! I left his office without any explanation as to what was happening. So I became my own physician and began listening to my body and taking notice of what I did during the day to make me so huge by evening. I realized shortly afterward, that it was after I ate breads or pasta etc. Bread is my FAVORITE food of all time! Research brought me to the knowledge that I might be gluten sensitive. So I began to eat just proteins and vegetables and soon after I found that I no longer had the huge belly problem by the time I went to bed for the night. I am a type 2 diabetic and really shouldn't be eating bread anyway. It has been quite a struggle to stay away from bread but I have managed to cut it from my diet here and there because I like the way I feel when I don't eat it at all. Then I happened upon the WB diet from a Facebook posting and began reading all about it and it all began to make sense to me. It wasn't just the gluten but it was the wheat and how wheat in itself has changed throughout hundreds of years and how it can make us really sick. I really do want to make this eating a way of life. I want to get off of insulin and metformin. Just a few days ago I learned my A1C is over 11 and my blood sugar at the time of the blood draw was over 400! I have a diabetic ulcer on my foot that I have had over a year. This has got to stop and I truly believe that if I eat the way WB teaches me to eat, then I will feel so much better and be so much healthier. Yes, I want to lose the extra 40 pounds on my body and fit into better clothes etc., but wanting to be healthier is a bigger driving force for me. I will soon be getting the WB cookbook to help me get off to a good start. I am very happy to find this forum as I know reading everyone's journey through this and reading everyone's ups and downs will encourage me to strive on. I hope that I will soon be able to encourage others as well with my struggles and how I got through them, what worked, what didn't etc. Well again, hello to everyone and I wish you all much success!!  :)
