General Discussion / Sleep problems lately...
« on: January 15, 2016, 09:28:38 PM »
so, we started this WOE on Monday. Tues, Wed and Thur nights I have not been sleeping well.  I have been far too alert!  Takes me a long time to fall asleep and then I wake up far more often than usual for me.  Is that a common reaction?  I don't mind being more alert during the day, but nights are for sleeping!

General Discussion / Protein drinks ?
« on: January 11, 2016, 10:02:35 PM »
As a recent bariatric surgery patient, I need protein supplements to get enough protein in my daily diet. I am unable to fit enough 'real' protein in my tiny tummy.

I know it has less desirable sweeteners but it is an issue I will have to deal with. So, other than the sweeteners, how does this look?

Here is the nutrition info and ingredients of the one protein that doesn't upset my stomach

« on: January 11, 2016, 08:51:05 PM »
can we have sugar free jello?  Maybe topped with homemade whipped cream (sugar free too, of course)

Hubby wants to know. (OK, I DO TOO!  LOL)

Thanks,
Robin

Personal Diaries / .
« on: January 11, 2016, 01:54:10 PM »
.i get it that people are trying to help, but I feel like everything I post in MY DIARY is wrong.  I'm done.  I'll stick with other sites that *feel* more friendly.

If I had a question and wanted input I asked it.  I thought my diary was a safe place to record what I was doing.

Have a good life and maybe don't be so quick to comment on people's diaries.

I have removed my personal posts from this.

Introduce Yourself to the Wheat Free Forum / Today is day 1
« on: January 11, 2016, 01:22:19 PM »
Hi everyone!  My name is Robin and I had gastric sleeve surgery July 2015. I am down 90 pounds with more to go.

Something made me decide to get Wheat Belly from Amazon the other day and as I started reading it, I told hubby and son (11) that we were going to ALL start this new way of eating.

Hubby is very overweight and has a massive belly. He has quite a few weight related health issues - almost all of which the Dr. mentions in the book.
My son has high function autism and ADHD and is battling weight already (guess he learned from us...). He is in the 15% for height but the 86% for weight. Not a good combination.

I told/asked them to both commit to this for one month and they agreed. I am hoping they will see and feel the difference enough to move forward with me on the new lifestyle.

How sad is it that I put my dogs on a grain free diet but never thought about the help and health it would provide US?  I guess my thought was if I paid $1000 for a dog it was worth paying for the best type of food for them.  But why the disconnect from that and our health?  Oh well.  Moving forward now!

Well, there it is, a (not so) brief introduction.  Looking forward to getting to know all of you and learning more about eating healthy!
