Wheat Free Recipes / Re: Microwave muffins in a minute
« on: September 02, 2013, 01:42:18 PM »
Inspired by Jan, I made a savory one this morning. Used 1 T. almond flour and 3 T. ground golden flax in base. Then added a little parmesan, garlic powder, basil and oregano. Sprinkled top with Trader Joe's Dukkah seasoning before cooking. Sliced in two halves and put in toaster when cooled. Topped with garden vegetable cream cheese. This was just like an everything bagel. Made one the other day with half almond flour and half ground flax, cinnamon and walnuts. That one was great, too. The possibilities are endless.

I think you're so right, Barbara!  I have a friend who had gastric surgery a few years back, lost all the weight, and then gained it all back.  She thinks her current debilitating migraines are due to sugar intake but I suspect wheat is playing a factor as well.  I have talked to her about going wheat-free but she can't really see it.....yet.  I plan on going my merry way, and when she sees how good I feel and my weight loss/health results, I think she'll eventually get on board.

It's hard, though.  Being a born-again wheat-free individual...you want all of your friends and relatives to reap the same benefits.   :)

I am so glad I found this forum for like-minded individuals.  I have been enjoying Dr. Davis' FB page but this forum is so much more personal.

Hi, All...I read WB just over two months ago and was also shocked!  Immediately went WF.  So it's been a little over two months without wheat.  Would like to lose about 60 pounds eventually.   The scale has been going down very, very slowly.  But interestingly...I put on a blouse yesterday that was tight across the middle two months ago and I actually had room in it... so inches are being lost. And, I feel so much better.  I am looking forward to reading everyone's posts and seeing recipe ideas.  I'm more of a "lurker" than a poster, except when I find something amazing to share.

I was previously following the Metabolism Miracle guidelines and was finding success in that, but I know that going WF, as well, is the answer.  I guess I can state that now I am following a combination of the two.  My latest goals are to watch portion sizes, drink more water, and remember...."Wine is for Weekends"..... :)

Interesting observation--Has anyone else become such a proponent of going wheat-free that you are almost like a fanatic in trying to make conversions?  Sometimes I have to stop myself from becoming too pushy when I see people who are sick and tired and say they could never give up their bread, pizza, bagels....you name it!

Have an awesome WF day, all!
