Food Elements / questions regarding bread substitutes
« on: December 16, 2014, 05:31:19 AM »
I am new to this and do not have the book yet and working full time and having a child I have little time to read or research until the weekend so I was asking what you use for crunch or bread type substitutes?  Are rice cakes made with 100% brown rice ok?  What else is out there that I can try?  Again, I have little time to bake also so making my own right now is not an option.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Happy to report that in 2 days I am already down 4 lbs.! It is great to see results and I already am feeling less bloated and had no heartburn at all yesterday!  I found that I ate really well and did not feel at all deprived.

Thanks everyone for all the links and support.  Day one went very well for me and I did not feel deprived at all.  All my food is ready for work and I found the courage to weight myself so I have a baseline of where I stared.  Staying off that thing except for once a week.  Have a good day all!

Wheat Free Tips / substitute for pasta?

I don't want to get into the habit of a cheat day but I do love my pasta and wanted to know if pasta made strictly from rice is ok once in a blue moon?

I just read an article in an older magazine from earlier this year about the wheat belly diet.  I am desperate to drop all the weight I regained the past 2 years due to excess stress.  Now that I have my stressors under control I need to get the food and exercise issues under control and this looked like a really doable eating plan. I am excited to get started and said there is no time like the present so I started today and planned out all my food to bring to work with me tomorrow and did some cooking and preparing for later in the week as well so I will have no excuses. I am afraid to get on the scale but I have a general idea of how much I weigh so I guess I have to face the music sooner or later.  I knew that if I put this off until after the holidays I could easily gain another 10 or more pounds so I want to get started now.
